REA Group’s corporate affairs and comms boss Natalie Cerny exits

Natalie Cerny, REA Group’s group manager of corporate affairs and communications, is set to depart the company to take on a new role in New York.

Cerny is set to become the chief communications office for Dow Jones.

Natalie Cerny is set to depart REA Group on December 21

In her new role, Cerny will lead the global communications team including the internal communications and public relations teams.

Cerny has been the group manager of corporate affairs and communications at REA Group for almost four years.

Prior to that she was its head of corporate affairs for a year.

Before joining REA Group, Cerny was the group manager of PR, media and communications for a year.

In an email to staff, Dow Jones said: “In her new role, Natalie will lead our internal and external communications strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across Dow Jones and News Corp to ensure that Dow Jones continues to grow its reputation as the world’s leading provider of news, data and business information.

“Natalie will be based in New York and will oversee the global communications team, including internal communications and public relations. She will start with us on January 14, 2019.

“I would like to give special thanks to Andy Robinson, our SVP of communications, for serving as interim chief communications officer since March.”

Cerny said in a statement to Mumbrella: “Dow Jones is doing some incredibly exciting and important work and I am thrilled to be in a position to contribute to their success.”

“Of course I’m sad to be leaving REA, I have loved my time with the business. I’m leaving an excellent team in place and I will be watching them with great enthusiasm from New York.”

Cerny’s departure came just before REA CEO Tracey Fellows announced she was stepping down from the role.

Meanwhile, in August REA Group’s EGM of media and marketing Libby Minogue departed.

Fellows is set to take on a global role at News Corp in January.
