Rebecca Morse and Andrew Costello to host Adelaide Hit 107 breakfast

Adelaide’s Hit 107 has announced Ten’s Adelaide newsreader Rebecca Morse, Nine travel presenter Andrew Costello and Triple M’s Hayden Naughton will form the station’s revamped breakfast lineup in 2019.

Morse, Costello and Naughton will replace Amos, Cat and Angus who were axed last month due to “shifting target audiences”.

After Amos, Cat and Angus’ departure was announced, the show’s ratings saw a 0.8 point jump to 7.5%, still well behind FIVEaa’s David Pemberthy and Will Goodings and Mix 102.3’s Jodie Oddy and Mark Soda Soderstrom.

Morse said in a statement: “I’m really excited to be joining hit107 breakfast next year. I started my media career in radio and loved my stint at the station several years ago, so it will be like coming home.”

Morse previously hosted a breakfast show with Ryan Burgess on SAFM in 2010.

“Cosi and I have a lot in common; we are both passionate and proud South Australians and laugh at our own jokes. As for working both ends of the day, there will be coffee and there will be chaos,” Morse continued.

Costello, in his sixth season of hosting Channel Nine’s SA travel show, South Aussie with Cosi, added: “I left the pig farm to join SAFM 18 years ago, and I fell in love with radio and its audience. This radio station runs through my blood and the opportunity to return to hit107 is like a dream come true.

“Bec Morse is a gun. She’s funny, likeable and a great mum. The hit107 role will allow SA to get to know the cheeky, fun side of one of our best newsreaders. I ask all South Aussies for their support and we look forward to creating a breakfast show like no other. Bring it on!”

Hit Network’s head of content Gemma Fordham said: “It’s with great excitement that we welcome both Bec and Cosi back to radio!

“Together, they bring many years of experience and are truly passionate about Adelaide and Adelaideans. Having heard the show off air I can guarantee it’s a show people will love listening to – it’s fun, cheeky, relatable and really puts a smile on your face. The chemistry between Bec and Cosi is infectious and we look forward to the show starting in January.”
