Red Havas Brisbane appoints new executive director

PR and communications agency Red Havas has appointed Haylie Marchant as executive director of its Brisbane office. Marchant joins with 15-years of industry experience across both the Australia and US markets. She joins Red Havas from M2 Communications, where she was principal since July last year.

Marchant will lead Red Havas in the Brisbane market, in addition to joining the agency’s national senior management team.

Red Havas and Havas Blvd managing director, Steve Fontanot said that the team is excited to welcome Marchant to the team.

“When meeting Haylie, it was easy to see that we have a shared belief in a people-led culture, along with a strong point of view on the future of our industry. Her wealth of experience will deliver significant benefits to our clients in Queensland, as well as on a national level, through her contributions to the senior leadership team.”

Marchant takes up the role, which has been vacant since Yasmine Gray’s departure in March. Gray left Red Havas after six years at the helm of the Brisbane office.

On her own appointment, Marchant said that she knew from the first meeting that she would be a good fit for the agency.

“There was a complete alignment of values and business philosophies, underpinned by a genuine commitment to driving a people-led culture, which has never been more important than in today’s landscape. I’m looking forward to working closely with Steve and the entire agency to build on its impressive foundations and further grow Red Havas Brisbane.”

Prior to her time at M2, Marchant spent ten years at Haystac, where she established the Brisbane office, before taking the national head of strategy role in 2018.

Earlier this year, CEO of Red Havas, Sarah Trombetta left the agency, with One Green Bean CEO Simone Gupta subsequently expanding her remit to Havas PR CEO, to cover the Red Havas as well.
