Red PR rebrands as The Red Republic

Surry Hills public relations agency Red PR has announced a rebrand as The Red Republic.

The announcement:

CEO and founder Fleur Madden said changing the name and brand identity had been an evolution.

“We felt after 10 years in the industry, we were no longer just a PR agency. We are an experiential agency, a communications agency, digital agency, and now a creative agency with the launch of our graphic design business Design by Republic,” she said.

Madden said the last 12 months had seen huge change for the agency, with structural changes to management, 40% growth on monthly income, employment of seven new staff and launch of their graphic design business, run by industry veteran Jane Toohey.

“The agency model has obviously changed since I first started Red PR and the business has survived some tough years with the Australian economy, to come out the other side with significant growth. It was time to make some big decisions about our future and own who we are,” she said.

“Our name no longer reflected what we did, who we are and the services we offered. It shocked me to find out we had clients who didn’t realise we had been doing social media and digital campaigns for years. We were too busy selling our clients and forgot to sell ourselves.

“The Red PR group is dynamic, we are confident, we push boundaries, we achieve for our clients, we start conversations on every platform, we engage you with your customers, we are connectors, we are unconventional, we listen, we influence, we do things our way, we are strong together, we are family and we are a new breed of PR and it because of all of these reasons, that we are rebranding to The Red Republic.”

Former journalist, Madden started the agency in Brisbane in 2003 and expanded with a second office in Sydney in 2008. The company has a dedicated social media and digital division Gen Red and training arm Red University. They were the first Australian partner of global group PROI – the world’s largest group of independently owned agencies by fee income.

“The hardest part of the rebrand was not the name change because we were ready, but moving away from our signature colour red when it is part of your name. Red was expected of us and it was obvious,” she said

“Red has become part of our culture, it is the way we do things, but it was time for a change and we wanted to push our own boundaries.”

Some of The Red Republic’s current clients are Suncorp Bank and Insurance, Escape Travel, Luxury Escapes, Escape Haven, The Home, The Gourmet, Sabo Skirt, Margot McKinney jewellery, The Gloss Bar, Lend Lease, Surf Life Saving Australia’s Boardies Day, Snap Fitness and the Queensland Fire and Rescue.
