Renowned CMO announced as new chair of the Australian Association of National Advertisers

The Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) is revitalising its board while unveiling its new chair.

Chief marketing officer of The Arnott’s Group, Jenni Dill, has been named as the new chair of the board for AANA; a position she’ll step into after joining the national body in late 2016.

Dill’s appointment formalises the departure of Nestlé general manager, Martin Brown, who entered AANA as a director in September 2018, before becoming chairman of the board in mid-2019.

“I’m incredibly proud of how far AANA has come, the value we are delivering to our members and the impact we are having on the industry,” Brown said, when speaking on his move to step down.

“This was made possible through the trust of our members, the dedication of the AANA team and the support of our board. I am confident that AANA will soar to new heights with Jenni Dill at the helm.”

Dill spoke highly of Martin and his contribution as a AANA leader.

“Martin has made an incredible contribution to AANA and the industry,” she expressed.

“We cannot thank him enough for leaving the AANA in such a strong position as the leading marketing industry body in Australia. I’m both honoured and excited to step into this role and lead our efforts in supporting and championing Australia’s marketing community.”

Apart from its leadership changes, AANA has also announced three new board members lauded for bringing “a rich diversity of experience from different industry sectors” to the table.

They include: Nestlé’s director of marketing and communications, Anneliese Douglass; Salesforce’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Australia and New Zealand, Leandro Perez, and Optus’ head of consumer marketing, Cameron Luby.

The arrivals of Luby, Perez and Douglass come as ex-AANA directors – Bank of Queensland’s group executive for retail banking, Martine Jager, Lion chief growth officer Anubha Sahasrabuddhe, and SafetyCulture’s vice president of global marketing, Aisling Finch, depart.

“It is truly an exciting time to be part of the AANA community and we have a bright future ahead of us,” added Josh Faulks, chief executive officer of AANA.

“Our new chair and renewed board will help AANA shape the future of a trusted and sustainable marketing industry in Australia.

“Congratulations to Jenni and the new board members, and a big thank you to Martin and those leaving the board for their support and donating their precious time over so many years.”
