Respected music publicist launches new PR business: ‘Now is the time to go out on my own’

A well-known and respected figure in the Australian music industry has announced the launch of a new independent PR and promotions company.

Anna Fitzgerald, who has spent the last decade as director of publicity and promotions at indie label TMRW Music Group (previously Ministry of Sound Australia) and worked with the likes of PNAU, FISHER and international acts such as Duke Dumont, has announced ms.fitz communications, to be based out of Sydney.

Prior to her time at TMRW Music, Fitzgerald also worked as a publicist at major labels like Sony and Warner Music.

“I’ve had such a wonderful career working at record labels over the past 20 years, including a decade at TMRW Music which I’ve absolutely loved, but now is the time to go out on my own,” Fitzgerald said.

“I’m excited to continue to work with artists like PNAU and keep showing the world how amazing Australian artists are, plus help international artists get exposure in the Australian market.”

Ms.fitz communications will specialise in servicing music to Australian radio, particularly triple j and commercial radio, as well as devising strategic and dynamic promotional plans to secure airplay and grow an artist’s audience. The business will also create and execute on-ground promotional schedules covering radio, TV, print and online media and help artists build relationships with DSPs.

Peking Duk is another act Fitzgerald has worked with, with Adam Hyde praising the new venture.

“Anna Fitzgerald is hands down the most ambitious, devoted, hardworking and most of all caring person we have had the pleasure of working with and anyone else that knows her or has been lucky enough to work with her will tell you the same,” he said.

“Not only is she passionate but she has a unique angle of working within the music industry that feels leaps and bounds ahead of the rest. A true legend whose legacy has only just begun.”
