Huge Friday night audience tunes in for Richmond’s AFL finals victory
Friday night’s Victorian AFL derby between Richmond and Geelong draw Seven a massive Melbourne audience of 615,000 audience for the game.
The game, which saw Richmond secure a spot in the preliminary final, attracted a further 127,000 Seven viewers in Adelaide.
And another 262,000 metro viewers watched the game on7Mate in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
A further 355,000 metro viewers watched the game on Fox Footy.
The game also pulled in 208,000 regional viewers from Seven affiliates, meaning it averaged more than 1.5m live TV viewers on the night across all networks.

Meanwhile, Nine’s NRL finals clash between Sydney Roosters and the Brisbane Broncos, rated 385,000 in Sydney and Brisbane.
Ten’s best performer was The Living Room which averaged 369,000 metro viewers.
Seven won the night with an overall audience share across the five metro markets of 28.9% ahead of Nine’s 18.9% and Ten’s 8%. ABC managed an 8.4% share while SBS saw a 6.5% audience share share.
In Melbourne, Seven achieved a massive 45.4% share.
