Hicks: Mumbrella managing editor

Mumbrella deputy editor Robin Hicks has today moved into the new role of managing editor of Mumbrella.

Hicks’ promotion comes as Mumbrella editor Tim Burrowes steps into the new role of editor-in-chief across both Mumbrella and sister magazine Encore.

The coming weeks will see Burrowes work on a relaunch of Encore which will see the monthly title – currently focused on the screen industry – widen its scope as it moves closer to Mumbrella’s audience.

In another move, Brooke Hemphill, currently head of video and training content, has become Encore’s managing editor.

Encore’s acting editor Colin Delaney will continue to work on the title in the run-up to the relaunch.

The changes will see Hicks guide Mumbrella’s day to day coverage of the news agenda, while Hemphill will lead the features content for Encore’s new direction.

Mumbrella’s parent company Focal Attractions bought Encore from Reed Business Information in December 2009.

Meanwhile, Mumbrella is currently looking to recruit another journalist.
