Ross Howarth steps up at Prime

Prime Media Group has promoted Ross Howarth to the role of GM of commercial operations.  

The announcement:

Prime Media Group CEO Ian Audsley has announced the appointment of Ross Howarth as General Manager, Commercial Operations.

Howarth is currently General Manager of Seven Affiliate Sales, a position he has held for 12 years.

In his new role, Howarth will work closely with Prime Media Group business unit CEOs to strengthen the group’s media sales capabilities, manage all elements of impending sales systems upgrades and continue to build Prime’s cross platform sales opportunities.

“Ross has done a tremendous job leading Prime’s national sales operation for the past 12 years and has built an outstanding sales operation. As Prime investigates new opportunities for its media sales operations, it became obvious that Ross was the best possible person to oversee such an important transition,” Audsley said.

Howarth has held senior media management positions with McCann Erickson, Young & Rubicam, J Walter Thompson and Merchant & Partners (now Initiative Media) before joining Prime and Seven Affiliate Sales. Prime became the first television network to look beyond traditional sales recruitment sources to appoint an experienced agency executive to head up its sales division.

“I have been privileged to head Seven Affiliate Sales during such an exciting and dynamic time. This new role allows me to broaden my contribution to the sales endeavours of the group, and I look forward to working with Ian and the key executive team at Prime Media Group,” Howarth said.

Howarth will assume his corporate role at the conclusion of an executive recruitment process that involves a number of internal and external candidates.
