The Royals appoints new creative and planning directors as agency expands
The Royals has appointed Andy Jones as the agency’s new creative director, and Matt Davies as planning director.
Both roles are newly created, following the agency’s client wins over the last twelve months, including Ipoh, Mercedes-Benz Vans and Melbourne Racing Club.
The latest appointments add to the The Royals’ nine creative hires made in the second half of 2016.
Jones joins from his role as creative director at McCann Melbourne, where he was behind work included the MIFF Emotional trailer campaign and Tigerair’s Infrequent Flyer Program.
Prior to his new role at The Royals, Davies was a senior brand strategist with AJF Partnership for two years.
Davies has also worked overseas with Arnold Worldwide and Design Bridge on clients including Volvo and Diageo.
Nick Cummins, executive creative director at The Royals, said of the appointments: “I love Andy’s passion for craft and am a fan of his work so now having him at The Royals is not only great for us, but our clients as well. Matt is also another great senior hire. He brings some really interesting insights into what is becoming one of the best strategic teams I’ve ever worked with.”
Last year, the agency was also listed in the BRW Fast 100 at 74.
