Revealed: APAC network of the year contenders for Mumbrella Awards

Mumbrella AwardsMumbrella can today reveal the full jury for the Mumbrella Awards, along with the shortlists for APAC media network of the year and APAC  creative network of the year

This is the first time the Mumbrella Awards have been opened up to regional entries – and believed to be the first time an APAC awards show has been hosted in Australia.

On the shortlist from APAC Creative Network of the Year are:

  • DDB, owned by Omnicom;
  • Saatchi & Saatchi, owned by Publicis Groupe;
  • Y&R, owned by WPP

The shortlist for Media Network of the Year is:

  • Carat – owned by Aegis Media
  • OMD – owned by Omnicom
  • PHD – owned by Omnicom

The winners are to be revealed on the evening of next Thursday June 6 at The Star  in Sydney.

The regional jury will hear presentations from the finalist networks on June 5 during the Mumbrella360 conference.

mark buckman telstraThe Mumbrella Awards are being chaired by Mark Buckman, chief marketing officer and executive director of digital content services and IPTV at Telstra. Buckman is a former CMO of CommBank and was previously chairman and CEO for the Pacific Region of McCann Worldgroup.

The APAC jury will be captained by Darren Woolley, founder of pitch consultancy TrinityP3 which has bases in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The APAC jury also includes:

  • Grant Watts, head of global advertising at SingTel Group Digital L!fe
  • James Sykes, marketing director, Asia Pacific, Beam Global
  • Matthew Groskorth, global innovation director, Asia Pacific, Ansell
  • Peta Alexander, executive marketing director, Walt Disney Motion Pictures
  • Michael Edmonds, general manager, global marketing Meat & Livestock Australia

Judging for the rest of the Mumbrella Awards begins tomorrow in Sydney, with jurors travelling to Auckland and Melbourne on Wednesday and Thursday. The jury is one of the most experienced ever assembled. The rest of the jury is:

Charlie Pickering

The main shortlist for the Mumbrella Awards was revealed last week.

The Mumbrella Awards are being hosted for the second year running by Charlie Pickering, host of The Project on Ten. He will be joined by The Project regular Sam Mac.

Music at the aftershow will come from The Faders.

The awards will be followed by a cocktails after party within The Star complex sponsored by REA Media.
