RXP Group partners with Alteryx to offer not-for-profits access to data and targeted insights

RXP Group has partnered with Alteryx to launch the Data for Good initiative, which will offer not-for-profits access to data and targeted insights.

The announcement:

RXP Group today announced the launch of a Data for Good initiative, in partnership with Alteryx for Good, to unlock targeted insights for not-for-profit organisations including The Smith Family, Foodbank Australia, The Royal Flying Doctor Service and R U OK?

A total of 20 analytics students from Western Sydney University and University of New South Wales have signed up to take part in the project that will see the winning team awarded $10,000 for their chosen social cause.

“Through our corporate social responsibility program, Alteryx for Good, we are enabling students, educators and not-for-profit organisations around the globe to embrace the thrill of solving and bring positive, lasting change to their communities,” said Julian Quinn, senior vice president of sales, APAC at Alteryx. “We are honoured to be part of this inaugural initiative in Australia and look forward to witnessing these students harness the power of analytics for social good.”

Curated datasets and project objectives will be provided by the not-for-profits, supplemented with ABS data. Through the Alteryx for Good program, each of the four teams will receive donated Alteryx Designer licences and training with mentorship support from members of the data science team at NBN and the RXP Group.

Starting in the first week of March, the teams will have three weeks to research and develop their data-driven idea for their respective organisation, before presenting to a judging panel including representatives from Alteryx, RXP and two leading industry experts at RXP’s Sydney Experience Hub in early April.

Kevin Brough, group executive – northern region at RXP added: “Unlocking the power of data can deliver real change to any organisation and the insights generated from this Data for Good project will help our not-for-profits address one of their most pressing issues in a more targeted way. We’re delighted to bring together The Smith Family, Foodbank Australia, The Royal Flying Doctor Service and R U OK?, the next generation of talented data analysts, our technology partner Alteryx and the NBN for this innovative project.”

Alteryx will produce two podcasts, including one that charts the experiences of each student team and one that focuses on the outcomes achieved for the not-for-profits, for its Alter.Everything podcast series.

Quinn and Brough jointly announced the program during a session hosted by Alteryx chief customer officer and co-founder, Olivia Duane Adams, alongside a number of the not-for-profit partners at the Alteryx Inspire APAC event held in Sydney on February 23-26.
