Ryan Kwanten stars in Not Suitable For Children

Ryan Kwanten (True Blood, Griff the Invisible, Red Hill) will star in the feature film debut by Academy Award nominee Peter Templeman, due to commence shooting in Sydney in August.

Templeman’s short films have won over 30 major film festival awards. His 2007 short The Saviour (2007) garnered him an Oscar nomination.

Kwanten will star as Jonah, a young guy who discovers he has only a month before he becomes infertile, and must find someone to have his baby before it’s too late.

Joining Kwanten is Sarah Snook (Spirited, Blood Brothers), Ryan Corr (Packed to the Rafters, Underbelly: The Golden Mile) and Bojana Novakovic (Burning Man, Edge of Darkness).

Templeman in a statement said, “After four years of development it’s a huge thrill to be rolling cameras with such a fantastic cast and crew” said director Peter Templeman. “Although this film will not be suitable for kids, we do have some valuable lessons in it – like how to fit thirty-six people into a small bathroom and why this is good to do.”

The film is written by Michael Lucas (Offspring), produced by Jodi Matterson (Razzle Dazzle) with Bruna Papandrea (Milk) as executive producer. The film will be distributed locally by Icon Films and internationally via Arclight.

Matterson said in a statement, “Not Suitable for Children is a wonderful concept – for once it is the guy’s biological clock that is ticking and that is something a female audience can look forward to! We are thrilled to have such an exciting and talented director and a knock-out young cast led by Ryan Kwanten.”

With funding by Screen Australia, it is a Wild Eddie Production, in association with Fulcrum Media Finance, Screen NSW, Frame Set and Match and Exit Films.
