Sam Kekovich talks about iguanas in Telstra Phonewords ad

Media personality and sports commentator Sam Kekovich has returned to television ads discussing iguanas in a Telstra Phonewords ad.

The ad draws upon Kekovich’s previous ad appearances with a monologue from behind his desk.

In Telstra’s ad the media personality holds up a card which says 1300 Iguana, and asks viewers what they remember.

Promoting the telecommunications company’s phone word offering, he says “words are five times more memorable than numbers”.

On his desk in the ad, Kekovich is surrounded by Australia memorabilia including a picture image of a lamb.

Kekovich initially appeared in the Lamb Australia Day commercial, putting the famous ad on the map with an angry rant.

In January, Advance Pet Foods reprised the theme and created a new version of the ad to sell dog food.

Telstra uses a roster of agencies including DDB, The Monkeys and Clemenger BBDO Sydney.
