Sarah Smith appointed as head of marketing for Bundanon Trust

Former Sydney Opera House and Fairfax communications and PR head, Sarah Smith has been appointed head of marketing and communications for the Bundanon Trust.

The trust was established by artists Arthur and Yvonne Boyd in 1993 to operate a creative arts centre in a homestead  situated on the Shoalhaven River, south of Sydney.

Smith said about her appointment: “During my career, I have had the pleasure of representing high-profile brands, businesses, projects and personalities – the best of the best.

“It’s a real thrill to be able to now return home and share my skills and experience with an organisation like Bundanon Trust, a regional cultural icon committed to supporting the arts and making it accessible to all Australians – something I am very passionate about.”

Smith’s previous roles include senior director at Universal Music Australia and project lead, audiences and digital experiences at the ABC.

Bundanon Trust CEO Deborah Ely AM added: “Sarah’s appointment comes at a strategic and transformative time for Bundanon Trust, which recently received $8.592 million, the largest allocation from the NSW Government’s Regional Cultural Fund, to help enable the building of a new gallery and storage component as part of its Masterplan project.

“Over the next 12-24 months, Bundanon Trust aims to launch the new Boyd Gallery to house its unique 4,000 artworks valued at over $43 million, expand its world-class facilities for student and artists, and extend public access and opening hours to enjoy live concerts, events, tours and a new café. Sarah will play a critical role in this transformation and we are thrilled to welcome her here.”
