Savers debuts first cinema ad at Sydney Film Festival

Savers has released a new campaign – “it’s first-ever cinema advertisement” – at the 2025 Sydney Film Festival.

The announcement:

Savers® has today launched a new brand campaign on the big screen, unveiling its first-ever cinema advertisement at this year’s Sydney Film Festival. The ad, titled One Find, Many Stories, aired at the Festival’s free outdoor cinema, SFFTV in Martin Place, bringing the Thrift Proud® movement to life in a public, creative setting for the first time.

The short film-style spot follows a single black blazer as it’s discovered and re-worn by different people – each bringing their own story, style and purpose to the same piece. From style-maker to value-seeker, the advert follows the blazer as it’s rediscovered again and again, evolving with every wearer.

The video launch forms part of Savers’ growing Thrift Proud® movement, which encourages Australians to shop more consciously while embracing their own sense of style. With a focus on great value and giving clothes a second life, the ad brings the brand’s purpose to life in a simple, relatable way – celebrating the idea that secondhand can be both affordable and stylish.

Natalie Howes, general manager marketing & brand at Savers Australia, said the campaign captures what makes thrift shopping so rewarding.

“At Savers, we believe secondhand shopping is a treasure hunt – a chance to uncover one-of-a-kind finds while getting more for less,” Howes said. “This ad is about showing how secondhand fashion can reflect your personal style, while also having a positive impact on your hip pocket, and the planet. We want people to feel proud of the choice to thrift – and to see it as a versatile, sustainable and stylish shopping option.”

The campaign marks a new chapter in the brand’s Thrift Proud® movement, which continues to gain momentum across Australia. Following the recent opening of Savers Auburn – its third New South Wales store in just 12 months – Savers is expanding its footprint in Sydney and encouraging more people to embrace secondhand fashion.

Howes noted that the partnership also strengthens the Thrift Proud® movement in Sydney, encouraging even more people to embrace secondhand fashion as a stylish, meaningful, and affordable choice.

“The timing of this campaign, alongside our new store openings, helps shine a light on what Savers is all about – great value, personal style, and giving everyday items a second life,” Howes said.

With the Sydney Film Festival’s SFFTV activation at Martin Place coinciding with Vivid Sydney this year, the campaign is expected to reach up to 1.4 million visitors via the Festival’s free outdoor cinema. The video will also be shared across Savers’® digital platforms including the brand’s website and socials: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
