SBS appoints ABC’s Leon Coningham to head distribution arm

SBS has relaunched its consumer publishing and content sales business as SBS Distribution with Leon Coningham to lead it.

Coningham’s appointment comes across from the ABC’s distribution operation where he was general manager and before that MD and chairman of home entertainment leader Magna Pacific.

SBS COO Richard Finlayson said: “SBS sees increasing importance in this division given changes driven by digital distribution and the emergence of online, smart TV, IPTV and OTT video services.”

“Leon’s appointment and the restructure of this team underlines our expectation for significant commercial growth in Distribution as business models evolve over the coming five years.”
