Dr Mumbo

The Last Temptation of Lee Lin Chin

Sure Ten’s breakfast show Wake up was a failure but somehow Dr Mumbo is more optimistic about the idea of a “Wake up to Cappu-chin-o with Lee Lin Chin”.

Cryptically entitled ‘The Last temptation of Lee Lin Chin’, it is of course a teaser for Lee Lin’s cult appearances on the youth-oriented news show.

According to the media release issued by SBS 2’s The Feed: “After being schooled by veterans Larry Emdur and Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Lee Lin Chin’s transformation to morning television host is now complete with the first episode of her own breakfast program in front of a live studio audience.

“Cappu-chin-o is brewing all the right ingredients for ratings gold – an overly styled living room set, inoffensive animal segments, steak knife infomercials and shameless network cross-promotion. Even perennial morning show guest Prue MacSween has shown up in the studio (although no one quite knows if she was invited), but something doesn’t quite feel right.

“Lee Lin tries to resist, but no amount of mindless lifestyle chat, cat videos or wardrobe budget can stop her journalistic sense from rising to the top. Could Cappu-chin-o all be a frothy front for a sinister conspiracy to sell SBS?

“The fate of the network rests in Lee Lin’s perfectly manicured for morning TV hands…”

Indeed.

Updated 7/10: For the few of you who may have missed the epic tale on SBS2’s The Feed last night, here it is in all its glory.
