SCA continues to tap ex-Triple J talent with first new podcast on LiSTNR

Southern Cross Austereo has begun delivering on its promise to launch a series of new and original podcasts on its newly unveiled LiSTNR platform, with Brooke Boney and Linda Marigliano to host The Dream Club.

The new podcast lands on the platform today (Wednesday, 24 February) and sees Boney and Marigliano chat about all the things happening around the globe from film and fashion to relationships, mental health, politics and everything in between.

Boney is a former Triple J newsreader and currently serves as Nine Network’s entertainment reporter on its Today show.

After years of conducting interviews, she said she’s looking forward to stepping behind the microphone herself.

“I’m excited to have in-depth and lovely conversations about stuff that’s on the real cutting edge of culture and things that are happening in the world.

“It’s the sort of content you’re not going to find anywhere else, having two young women with the depth of experience and a perspective not found in other places. It’s super exciting, and I think you’re going to love it!”

Marigliano also spent years at Triple J, during which time she forged a career as one of Australia’s leading music journalists, hosting shows including Good Nights and Mornings.

She said the chance to reunite with Boney for a new podcast was an opportunity that was too difficult to pass up.

“I am so excited to spill the beans out in public every week with one of my best friends, talking about the moments that matter, and all of the weird and wonderful stuff we discuss in between!” she said.

“We couldn’t pass up an opportunity to share our thoughtful and incredibly silly energy that Brooke and I generate together. Sometimes we laugh so much we cry. We love a stroll and a stretch, it’s impossible not to love her! We want to create the best sisterhood 2021 can offer! Dream Club is about them, not us.”

Last year SCA reunited popular former Triple J breakfast duo Matt Okine and Alex Dyson for a new podcast; All Day Breakfast.

Upon revealing that it would house all of its digital audio assets within the new LiSTNR app, SCA revealed Marigliano will also host a new music show called The Spin.

Following the launch of LiSTNR last week, SCA announced that head of podcasting Grant Tothill will take on the additional role of general manager digital audio.

Meanwhile, head of digital product, Chris Johnson, will now become head of digital and innovation, overseeing SCA’s core digital products including LiSTNR.
