Schepisi returns with The Eye of the Storm
Director Fred Schepisi has begun production of his new film The Eye of the Storm in Melbourne.
The Eye of the Storm is based on the novel by Patrick White. The cast includes Geoffrey Rush, Judy Davis, Charlotte Rampling, Alexandra Schepisi, Robyn Nevin, Colin Friels, John Gaden, and Helen Morse.
The story is set in Sydney’s Centennial Park, where two nurses, a housekeeper and a solicitor attend to Elizabeth Hunter (Rampling) as her expatriate son (Rush) and daughter (Davis) convene at her deathbed.
This will be Schepisi’s first film project in Australia since Evil Angels (1988), with Meryl Streep.
The film will also be partially shot in Sydney and far north Queensland.
International sales are in charge of LA-based The Little Film Company, and Australian distribution will be executed by Transmission Films in 2011.
