The announcement:

Screen NSW is inviting applications for both its Audience Development Fund and Industry Development Fund for the 2014/2015 financial year.

The funding round is now open and will close at 5pm on Friday 2 May 2014.

The Audience Development Fund provides grants to organisations for public screenings, festivals or tours that provide opportunities for audiences to see and experience quality screen content and innovative practice, for one-off or annual events, in single or multiple venues.

The fund is designed to make film accessible to people across NSW, contributing to the wealth of cultural events for which NSW is renowned.

The Industry Development Fund provides grants to organisations that create professional development opportunities for NSW screen practitioners at various stages of their careers.

Funding is offered as single year funding or multi-year funding of up to three years. Applications are competitively assessed against a set of five criteria as outlined in the Guidelines.

In 2013/2014, Screen NSW committed $1.4m over three years to recipients of the Audience Development and Industry Development Funds, which included a range of events and activities such as the Young at Heart Film Festival’s regional tour to 45 towns in regional NSW, the North West Film Festival, showcasing the work of young filmmakers from rural communities in North West NSW, the Blue Heeler Film Festival in Muswellbrook and the Little Big Shots children’s film festival tour to Western Sydney and regional NSW.

Industry organisations to receive funding included Information and Cultural Exchange (Western Sydney), Screen Producers Australia, Northern Rivers Screenworks, Metro Screen, the Australian International Documentary Conference, the Australian Writers Guild, the Australian Directors Guild and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers.

Application forms and guidelines are available on the Screen NSW website.
