Semi Permanent appoints global advisors Terry Savage and Dav Rauch

Semi Permanent has appointed Terry Savage as business advisor and Dav Rauch as creative strategist.

The announcement:

Semi Permanent is pleased to announce the appointment of a world-class advisory team as we continue to boost our market-leading experience and unique approach to innovation. Terry Savage, the former Chairman of Cannes Lions, joins in the role of Business Advisor, while Dav Rauch, a visual effects designer and former Director of IDEO, joins in the role of Creative Strategist from San Francisco.

Terry Savage is currently the Global Chairman of The Marketing Academy, a leadership development programme operating in the UK, Australia and the USA. The Marketing Academy runs high level leadership development for the marketing industry through its scholarship programme and fellowship programme run in conjunction with McKinsey. He is also the founder of Savages Unlimited, a creative and business consultancy. Prior to this, Savage was for 15 years the Chairman of Cannes Lions, the world’s leading celebration of creativity, during which time this business grew into the most recognised industry awards festival in the world.

Dav Rauch has used his creative difference to create novel experiences designed to entertain, educate and engage. Most recently at IDEO, Rauch has helped shape the experience and identity for the Museum of the Future (Dubai); a wearable navigation system for the blind; an app aimed at keeping HIV+ youth adherent to their meds, for UCSF; a “phygital” game to help kids understand coding, for Google; and defined the consumer experience of autonomous space flight, for Blue Origin. Rauch spent many years honing his approach in the film industry, helping directors design scenes which required fresh eyes and a new vision of what the future might bring. He led the team to design “Jarvis”, the Heads Up Display for Ironman I, and all screen interactions for James Cameron’s Avatar. He’s helped to define the aesthetics for Robert Rodriguez’ Sin City and Grindhouse, the identity for ‘Panem’ in Gary Ross’ The Hunger Games, and has written/directed many commercials and film title sequences.

For 19 years, Semi Permanent has produced its flagship creative festivals around the world, growing to become an internationally-recognised design business encompassing a brand studio, white-label production services, high profile creative partnerships and live experiences for Google, Drobpox, National Geographic and Radiohead. More recently, we have delivered globally-minded projects flipping physical experiences to digital with incredible results. These include Rare with Google, Google’s diversity, equality and inclusion program; World Sports Creativity Sessions, co-designed for Tokyo 2020; and a joint venture with Highsnobiety, introducing the world’s leading fashion and culture publisher to the Australian market through an industry-first omnichannel approach.
