Senior creative talent returns to DDB Sydney to lead McDonald’s account

DDB Sydney has appointed a creative partner to lead the McDonald’s account, seeing a return of a senior creative, effective immediately.

Jack Nunn rejoins the agency after a two-year stint at Special and Ogilvy in London, where he worked with brands including Jack Daniel’s, Coca Cola, and Molson-Coors.

Prior to London, Nunn spent nearly two years at DDB as a creative director on the McDonald’s account where he created campaigns including Macca’s ‘Middle Child’ and ‘The Sting Re-Mix’, and launched McCafe’s ‘Coffee Fit For An Aussie’ platform that continues today.

He spent two years as a national and NSW co-head of AWARD School, and also brings experience from M&C Saatchi and Havas to the role.

In the new position, Nunn will lead the McDonald’s account, including full service advertising across its brand, retail and sponsorship portfolios.

“McDonald’s is a phenomenal brand, the team at DDB Sydney and Macca’s are filled with absolute legends,” Nunn said.

“At the risk of double-dipping, I just had to come back for seconds.”

He will report to Matt Chandler, executive creative director at DDB Sydney.

“I couldn’t be happier to have Jack back at DDB Sydney,” Chandler said.

“His energy, passion and talent are all you could ask for. I look forward to seeing him pick up where he left off with making more big, brilliant work for Macca’s that’s loved by fans across the country.”

DDB Sydney will soon have a new chief strategy officer in Rupert Price, who joins after 12 years at DDB Aotearoa. He will lead the planning department in its focus and proposition of “effectiveness delivered through the power of emotionally charged creativity”, across clients including McDonald’s.

Price replaces Fran Clayton, who finished up at DDB Sydney last month, to take on the chief strategist position at Ogilvy ANZ.

The agency also recently appointed a managing partner to lead the Westpac account, in Vanessa Boeuyres. Her responsibilities include leading brand strategy, creative and production services.

Creative duo Seamus McAlary and Emmalie Narathipakorn from The Monkeys also joined the agency earlier this year, as senior copywriter and senior art director, respectively.
