Seven and Nine share top spot for primary channel share

Nine’s Married at First Sight won entertainment on Tuesday, while the program also won all three key advertising demos.

Seven and Nine tied with the same primary channel share of 22.8%, and the top-rating multi-channel on Tuesday was 7Mate and 7TWO, both with a share of 3.9%.

MAFS aired to a metro audience of 827,000, however it was Seven which celebrated an overall network share win.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 8 February, Tuesday’s episode of MAFS was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.861 million viewers, including 501,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 51%. This was also the program with the biggest uplift.

Next in entertainment was Home and Away which pulled in an average metro audience of 493,000, followed by Seven’s The Chase Australia which brought in 482,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s Survivor Australia Blood vs Water aired to a metro audience of 438,000.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics night session (between 9-10pm) on Seven pulled in a metro audience of 419,000.The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics evening session (between 7-9pm) had 409,000 metro viewers.

The #1 program on Tuesday was Seven News at 6:30 which aired to 918,000 metro viewers, while Seven News had 916,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6.30pm had 795,000, and Nine News brought in 779,000 metro viewers,

As mentioned, Seven won the night, taking an overall network share of 32.4 over Nine’s 29.3%, while Ten had a 17.1% share, and the ABC had a 13.6% share.
