Seven invests in Russell Crowe movie project
The Seven network has invested in Russell Crowe’s movie project The Water Diviner.
The announcement:
26 March 2014 — Seven West Media and Seven Group Holdings are proud to confirm that both companies are investors in Russell Crowe’s major movie project: “The Water Diviner”.
Commenting, Tim Worner, CEO of Seven West Media, said: “This project is a special one for Seven.
“The original script came to us through Hopscotch some time ago and it was our view that it was one of best scripts for an Australian film we had ever read.
“It is a brilliant story set against the backdrop of one of the most important stories in Australian history. It is an incredibly moving tale and while not giving too much away we felt its production as a major movie is just the most powerful way of conveying to all Australians the special place that Gallipoli has in our past.
“We are really thankful to Hopscotch and also to now be associated with both Russell Crowe and
Ratpac on this project. All of them have fantastic track records as really strong storytellers.”
