Spectrum Group appoints Brian Corrigan as content director
Spectrum Group has appointed former AFR journalist Brian Corrigan as content director. Corrigan’s role will see him create content strategies for clients across both the Max Australia and Spectrum Communications businesses.
The announcement:
SYDNEY, Australia – 25 March 2014: Spectrum Group has today announced it will offer strategic content services under the direction of former Australian Financial Review journalist, Brian Corrigan.
Corrigan’s appointment as Content Director is the latest phase of the Group’s evolution into a ‘next gen’ agency, capable of servicing the growing demand among clients for integrated content, creative and social.
Awesome appointment, but could we start attributing sources and sample info as a footer to these PR-led stats?
“Content marketing is used by 93 per cent of Australian marketers, according to research produced by the Content Marketing Institute, with brand awareness, engagement and lead generation cited as the most common reasons for investment. Yet only half (52 per cent) of survey respondents said they had a documented strategy in place.”
Of course the Content Marketing Institute would say this, but if their sample was a selection of Australia’s top 100 CMOs and Marketing/Communications Directors, I’d be much more excited. How much do key decision makers care about content? Is the importance placed on content shifting how/where marketing/comms budgets are being placed?
Congratulations to Brian and looking forward to seeing what comes from Spectrum with this great new appointment!
Old Captain Corrigan eh? What will he think of next?
