Seven launches new singing competition format, All Together Now

Seven has commissioned a local take on a new reality singing competition format, which will be produced by EndemolShine.

All Together Now will feature a judging panel of 100 music experts and performers who will get to their feet and join in if they like what they hear.

The show is currently recruiting competitors in the form of both solo singers and group performers.

“Forget what you think you know about talent shows, because if the crowd’s not singing, you’re not winning!,” the application form says.

The series will dish out a $100,000 cash prize.

The show will be one of only two reality shows based solely around singing on free-to-air television.

Nine continues to invest in The Voice, which will return for its seventh season later this year.  Last year, The Voice finished with 1.306m metro viewers, up from the 1.287m it had the year prior.  The premiere episode of season six had 1.18m metro viewers, down on the prior year’s 1.4m.

Seven’s The X Factor was dumped after a poor ratings performance.

All Together Now already screens in Britain and features ex Ginger Spice Geri Horner (formerly Halliwell).
