Seven Network weather presenter to take on 7NEWS anchor role

7NEWS weather presenter, Angie Asimus, has landed a new hosting gig that will see her take the weekend anchor seat beside long-time anchor, Michael Usher.

On Friday morning, the network announced that Asimus – whose career with Seven began 16 years ago where she covered regional news in Townsville – will co-anchor the Sydney iteration of 7NEWS on Saturday and Friday evenings on 7plus and Channel 7, live from 6:00pm onwards.

The journalist will retain her position as 7NEWS Sydney weather presenter, with appearances covering Sundays through to Tuesdays when fellow hosts Angela Cox and Mark Ferguson are at the desk.

Really pleased to hear Angie coming on board as an anchor. I truly hope that Michael Usher can stop staring at Angie when she gives her segments because I am not the only regular Channel 7 viewer that believes it looks weird and creepy.
If Mark looks as his news companions it is with a smile of reassurance and support but Mike looks a bit creepy.
