Seven brings Nine’s winning ratings streak to an end with the AFL and Little Big Shots

Seven broke Nine’s winning ratings streak of eight consecutive weekly wins with Little Big Shots and the AFL finals giving the station the edge in the latest OzTAM preliminary figures.

For the ratings year to date Seven has won 17 weeks against Nine’s 11.

Seven’s Little Big Shot’s pulled in 1.305m metro viewers last Sunday, being the most watched program for the week, helping Seven to its 40.4% overall full day commercial channel share.

Nine’s Sunday night episode of The Block was the second most watched program for the week, attracting 1.198m viewers.

The AFL finals also helped the channel to its victory, with Saturday night’s game being the fifth most watched program of the week.

In its first loss for eight weeks, Nine came in second with a 38.4% share, ahead of Ten’s 21.2%.

On televisions last night, the West Coast Eagles secure a spot in the semi finals as the Football final’s post-match saw 1.102m tune in.

The game which saw Port Adelaide lose due to a goal scored after the siren, managed 847,000 viewers in both Melbourne and Adelaide.

According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, Nine News was the second most watched program of the evening with 1.088m metro viewers.

Comparatively Seven News attracted 863,000 metro viewers.

Saturday night saw Seven dominate in overall audience share with 29.2% in front of Nine’s 19.7% and ABC’s 13%.

Ten saw an audience share of just 4.3% and was beaten by SBS’ 4.4%.
