Seven reveals all-female line-up for The Real Full Monty: Ladies’ Night, including Casey Donovan and Rachael Finch
Seven has announced the line-up for the return of The Real Full Monty.
The all-female cast for the show, titled Ladies’ Night, includes Home and Away’s Lynne McGranger, fashion blogger Nadia Bartel, model and fitness influencer Rachael Finch, Killing Heidi frontwoman Ella Hooper, and performer Casey Donovan.
Most recently, Hooper was one of the hopefuls vying for the Australian spot in Eurovision. The role eventually went to Kate Miller-Heidke.
The cast will also include yogi and ex-wife of Shane Warne, Simone Callahan, and triple Olympian Lisa Curry.
Curry’s son with Grant Kenny, Jett, is currently on Ten’s Dancing With The Stars and took part in The Real Full Monty which aired last year.
The purpose of the event if to raise awareness for women’s health issues including breast cancer.
The routine will be choreographed by Todd McKenney who also choreographed the original all-male special. Georgie Parker will be hosting.
Last year’s screening of the special, featuring men including Shane Jacobson, Campbell Brown, Matt Cooper, Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones, Jett Kenny, Sam Mac, Kris Smith and Brian ‘BT’ Taylor, pulled a metro audience of 1.027m and a national reach of 1.579m.
A date has not been announced for the special.

I’m just wondering in what way , you hope to raise awarenss of Breast Cancer , by 8 normal women getting their gear off. Personally , I just came through Breast Cancer and am very self Conscious of my 2 different sized breasts. All you will be achieving is getting a heap of perverts watching this show. I am speaking for alot of women when I say , the whole idea of this show is disgusting and I have lost any respect for the women involved. If you want to raise awareness, tell a real story with real people and show women how to check themselves. You will then reach real people. Not sicko’s just wanting to different shaped women , gettiing their gear off.

Again, where’s the diversity? It’s hardly a true reflection of society. Viewers need talent they can relate to.

So its OK to have an all male cast getting their gear of for women but not OK for women to get their gear of for men. What hypocrites.
If the male version of this show is OK so is the female version.

It is to raise awareness so that women get checked to go and have a mammogram.

People…. if you don’t approve then don’t watch it. There are critiques about everything these days. I didn’t see any naughty bits when i watched the males show on tv. In fact I had a good laugh.

If you don’t like it then don’t bloody watch it. I’m a survivor of Breast Cancer and I think it’s a great idea.
Please keep your negativity to yourselves drama queens

It’s also disgusting for men to do it. Oh some of those fat men especially. Why would they want to flaunt that. Gross!

I’m a 35 year old women with terminal breast cancer and I agree with other comments that it’s in complete poor taste to show women normal breasts to raise awareness for breast cancer. There is nothing pretty about it. It’s millions of doctors appointments, anxiety, pain and death. Flashing does nothing to help women live from this horrible disease. We need more than awareness. It’s a money grabbing show for Channel 7. How about putting all the money made into finding a cure for Cancer?

I could not agree more. This goes against everything we are currently trying to fight for as women. The Me Too movement is trying to make gains against the sexualisation and objectification of women, and then you bring out a show like this. I won’t be supporting this at all.

I think it is great they are very brave it lets people who dont know about it hear about it but not hear about it in such a scary way they dont want to listen. It raises money and anything that raises money to help is good and people souldnt be selfish at the way people raise money to help as long as the money gets raised to help!!!

Agreed

Very true and saved alot of guys and alot of guys who wouldnt did get checked and raised money so all ticks in my book

I watched the first male Full Monty ( refused to watch the second). No complaints, particularly from feminists, about sexism, disrespect for men and the “obscene”, degardading sexualising of men. The auditorium was full of cheering, wolf whistling, ogling women carrying on exactly the way men are condemned for. Reinforces one of the endless double standards that applies to men.
I am wondering if the female version will go as far as the male Full Monty. Will the women’s bare backsides be shown on national TV & will the audience get a full frontal. I really doubt it.
Btw, I applauded the men for bringing attention to some very important issues that affect males but don’t normally get the attention or funding that women’s issues get. However, I don’t accept the need to demean and disrespect men in such a way. Men need to take a look at what women do to promote their issues.
If women want respect then they need to give the same respect.

A strip show for tv.
Disgusting. People are arrested and charged for stripping in public. Just when there is progress with Me Too movement.
There are so many ways to raise awareness in an appropriate way channel 7. Ugh.

It appears the women only want it THEIR WAY, but NEVER complain when a man gets his kit off. When a WOMAN does it?
” Oh it’s soooo sexist”…
Get over it girls!!!
Simple solution?
DON’T WATCH THE SHOW!!!!
Its that EASY!!!!

I agree with you ? percent Amy and very well said. However, i am very sorry to hear you have breast cancer sweetie. I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery.
Why don’t they #highlightawareness by doing a telethon and all money raised goes to the #cancerresearch? Flashing normal boobs only makes the women who have breast cancer feel more self conscious of their own bodies. I never watched the Male Full Monty and i certainly won’t be watching the Female Full Monty. If you want to watch people take their clothes off .. go to strip joints where you can have a good perve. Why televise it on National television Channel 7 ? Very very poor taste ?
User ID not verified.
Umm. Channel 7 now all of you talking about the show, watch or don’t watch. But you are all talking about breast cancer now. And before anyone jumps on the band wagon yes my family has lost family members to breast cancer and some are survivors.
User ID not verified.
The trouble with the world is everyone is so serious and critical. These women are taking their clothes and projecting a message. Get your boobs checked. I think good on them for having the courage. This world is such a sad, put down world that is no fun.
User ID not verified.
I have metastatic breast cancer stage 4, so no hope for me.
But l think this is amazing, l don’t particularly care who takes their clothes off , as long as money is raised for a cure, and awareness is raised for females & males to check themselves, then who gives a rats.
I would be amazed if there will be any ‘parts’ on show, the same as there wasn’t with the men…..but everyone is talking about it so it’s already having an influence.
Ladies don’t just have a mammogram, have a scan as well.
My lump passed 2 mammograms, 2 years apart !!!

Really, I’m sure when you were diagnosed your breasts were “normal”. Isn’t that the point, to check them regardless of whether they seem normal. Honestly anything that takes the taboo and shame away from these things is a big yes to me. The point of these shows is to show and prove that regardless of what your body looks like and how you feel about it, don’t hide it away when there may be a problem that could be resolved before it kills you. It’s prudish people who create the stigma around these checks. Be realistic and realise that every BODY is different and it’s not shameful to get intimate areas checked out. If these shows saves 1 life then they are worth it and have done their job. Also any money that they raise towards research is worthwhile.

Exactly, mammogram is not the best option, ultrasound is more thorough. But not just mammograms (cervical tests too) and not just women. Men need to be aware of male breast cancer, get skin checks, testicular cancer any anomaly regardless of age also. My cousin was diagnosed with breast cancer at 26, cancer is not an old person disease. Get all the scans and checks regularly and keep tabs on your own body too (and that of your significant other). Too many people shaming them claiming poor taste when really you are here reading and commenting so their job is already half way there. Whether you are complaining or not they have got your attention on the subject 🙂

Then shame on you that your support of breast cancer can be so easily swayed by this type of “advertising”. It really says more about you than about these celebs/producers

Totally agree. Once again, very little diversity on a mainstream channel.
Why couldn’t they have people with different abilities? Different cultures? The rest of it, I think is okay, I mean I think the majority of people are there to support the cause.

I agree Amy. I have just gone through the breast cancer roller coaster ride. I am so sorry to hear that you have terminal BC. Nobody knows what it is like to go through this and getting gear off to show their breasts is not really going to help. Raise money instead to support clinical research to save lives ! Wishing you all the best to have strength and support through this.

I am so sick and tired of [edited under Mumbrella’s comment policy] women and sick of seeing these stupid celebrities who claim they are helping raise awareness by getting naked. Honestly… Is this really raising awareness?
My 84 grandmother who has breast cancer will not receive any benefit by a few [edited under Mumbrella’s comment policy] women who get their breasts out!
Women have never been heard / listened , in historical settings, world wars, unless they sexualise their wants or needs to a pervert / male in power – this show only makes this more apparent!
Great work – for making women remember that unless your issue is sexy – it won’t be heard nor solved.
Can there just be one day, just one whole day where no [edited under Mumbrella’s comment policy] get their [edited under Mumbrella’s comment policy] or buttocks out on tv?!!!!! Just one day!!! I just turned 30 – sick and tired of all the females in my generation, older or younger who think being naked is a resolution / a step to a resolution…..
To the men who read this… Do you really know what it’s like to constantly be assessed by the size of your chest, the size of your buttocks , your hair colour , what you’re wearing, in almost every setting / aspect of your life?
I unfortunately live above an illegal strip club – who is deliberately using this show on Sunday night [edited under Mumbrella’s comment policy] … Wow so much awareness for charity there!!! Great work channel 7 for demeaning women even further..!!!

Cliff – do you have a life??? Why are you still replying for over a week now??? On a female issue… Is there something wrong with you? No family or friends to keep you busy?? so you sit on these chats waiting to reply and educate others on an issue you have no experience in?
Go volunteer / get a job – go do something useful with yourself – you lonely soul! You’re a typical keyboard warrior!
