Seven reveals details of new reality franchise The Big Adventure

Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 9.50.42 AMThe Seven Network has revealed the host of its new reality TV franchise The Big Adventure is to be TV presenter and model Jason Dundas.

Last month, Mumbrella revealed that Seven was quietly working on the new franchise, which is understood to combine elements of Survivor, Treasure Island and The Mole, taking place on a tropical island with contestants challenged to find a $1m prize.

Dundas is a former presenter on Nine’s Getaway program who has spent the last few years in New York hosting VH1’s breakfast program Big Morning Buzz Live.

“This show taps into the heart of what I believe makes us all Australian, our passion for adventure,” said Dundas in a statement. “After hosting 400 episodes of morning TV in New York, I’m really excited for my next big adventure; to return home and front one of Australia’s most exciting new TV shows. And to change someone’s life forever.”

The new reality program is an original Seven Productions concept, from the makers of Seven’s other major reality franchises reality-competition series, My Kitchen Rules and House Rules. The series will go into production later this year.

In February, Channel Seven put out a casting call for 12 people to win a place on a new reality TV show “that will change someone’s life” which was understood to be for the new program.
