Seven wins Friday night TV with Better Homes and Gardens leading the way

Friday night’s television saw Seven win the night with a share of 21% as Better Homes and Gardens lead the non-news programs with 666,000 metro viewers.

Nine was behind Seven in overall audience share with 16.8% followed by ABC with 12.6%, Ten with 10.9% and SBS’ 4.9%, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary ratings..

Airing at 7:30pm was Nine’s coverage of the second NRL match of the season, seeing the South Sydney Rabbitohs defeated by the victorious West Tigers – pulling in the second highest audience for Sydney with 234,000 viewers and 149,000 in Brisbane, totalling 384,000 viewers.  The opening match saw 506,000 tune in on Thursday night.

Ten’s The Living Room aired at the same time and saw 452,000 viewers tune in while the first episode of ABC’s The Link with Stan Grant pulled 408,000.

The news battle at 6:00pm saw Seven News win the night with 820,000 – as the most watched program for Friday night – topping Nine News’ second position with 807,000.

Seven’s screening of The Help pulled 355,000 at 8:30pm and was beaten by Ten’s The Graham Norton Show which managed 398,000.
