Seven wins the night with news as Nine wins the demos with The Big Bang Theory

d_haa_logo.s5327News dominated the evening’s viewing last night with the combination of Seven News and Today Tonight at 6.30pm the most watched program, pulling a metro audience of 1.045m, with fellow Seven program Home and Away claiming the most watched non-news show with an audience of 870,000.

The combination helped Seven to a comfortable audience share win with 21 per cent, with Nine taking an audience share of 19.2 per cent as Nine News at 6pm won its timeslot with an audience of 1.001m, ahead of Seven News’ audience of 996,000. Nine News at 6.30pm had an audience of 983,000.

Ten came in third with a share of 12.5 per cent while the ABC sat on a share of 11.7 per cent, according to OzTam’s overnight metro ratings.

Nine’s most watched non-news show was a repeat of The Big Bang Theory at 8pm which grabbed an audience of 787,000 which was also the most watched show across all the demographics. However it was beaten in its timeslot by Seven’s Nabbed which was watched by 812,000. Both shows out-rated the ABC’s repeat of Family Confidential (666,000) and Ten’s repeat of Modern Family (572,000).

Ten’s most watched show was the second half hour of The Project at 7pm which was watched by 629,000.

In the 7.30pm timeslot, Seven’s Motorway Patrol was the most watched with an audience of 830,000 ahead of Nine’s repeat of The Big Bang Theory which pulled an audience of 731,000.

The 8.30pm timeslot saw ABC’s Grand Designs win the timeslot with an audience of 631,000 just ahead of Seven’s Bones which was watched by 628,000. Nine doubled up on new episodes of Person of Interest at 9pm and 10pm, getting 633,000 and 391,000 respectively, while Seven’s Castle at 9.30pm got 508,000.

Ten’s two repeats of Law & Order: SVU got 400,000 and 321,000 respectively on at 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

On the ABC, 7.30 was the best performer pulling an audience of 737,000.

On the secondary channels, 7Two carved itself an audience share of 7 per cent as Judge John Deed at 8.30pm was watched by 336,000 viewers, the 29th best watched show of the evening.

Nine’s GO! grabbed a 5.2 per cent audience share with Auction Hunters at 7.30pm its most watched show with an audience of 206,000.

7Mate had a share of 4.1 per cent while Ten’s One had a share of 3.9 per cent and Eleven had a share of 2.7 per cent.
