Shameless Media expands leadership team, hires from London

Shameless Media has today announced changes to its team in a move to strengthen and diversify its core capabilities, ahead of its inaugural upfronts planned for February.

Six months after nabbing Thinkerbell’s Anjana Khallouf as managing director, the media company has promoted marketing and partnerships director Rhiannon Joyce to head of business development.

Joyce will continue to oversee strategic partnerships while also driving business development alongside Khallouf.

Respected British podcast talent Lucy Hunt is joining the Shameless team as head of podcasts, after nearly five years at London’s Listen Entertainment. Hunt has relocated to Melbourne for the role.

She brings a wealth of experience in content curation and production, having worked on a range of shows for major UK networks including ITV’s Love Island: The Morning After and BBC Radio 1’s The Gemma Collins Podcast.

“We experienced exponential growth as a business last year and feel we’ve cemented ourselves as a leading force in entertaining, clever and fresh content,” said Zara McDonald, co-founder of Shameless Media.

“With the appointment of key senior roles and our inaugural upfronts in February, we fully expect this year to be even bigger than the last.”

The company has also welcomed ex-Broadsheet executive Emma Beevor, as its newest partnerships manager, as well as Emily Li as content coordinator. Sohani Goonetillake has also been promoted to multimedia producer, rounding out the leadership growth.

The Shameless Media upfronts will take place on February 6 in Melbourne and February 8 Sydney.
