Dr Mumbo

Siimon’s even nice to spammers

Former adman Siimon Reynolds is of course a man known for his positivity.

And it would seem that he even brings that approach to spammers.

He recently enthused about the quality of the pillows during a junket in Dubai.

The responses to the item are what a less open minded blogger might view as classic comment spam.

One person linking to “Rapidshare Search” enthuses:

“I would like to thank you for the efforts you have made in writing this post. I am hoping the same best work from you in the future as well. In fact your creative writing abilities has inspired me to start my own BlogEngine blog now. Really the blogging is spreading its wings rapidly. Your write up is a fine example of it.”

Rather sweetly, Siimon takes the compliment at face value, telling the spammer: “That’s fantastic to hear, thank you.”

There are then other compliments for Siimon from “Skip Bins”:

“I have just started an online booking system for waste services (Skip Bin Hire is the first cab off the rank so to speak) and I will work on this suggestion as part of my to-do list. Find something relatively cheap, but surprising, delightful and memorable. This might be a small challenge when trying to find something delightful that is waste related but I am sure it will make my business standout!”

And Sport Events:

“I would like to thank the author for sharing such wonderful information. I hope that he will continue the good work in future also. I wish him all the best.”

And even Chennai Hotels:

“Great work dude, u gave nice post to us. Thanks for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic.”

Plus more from Rapidshare Search Engine:

“I admit, I have not been on this webpage in a long time… however it was another joy to see It is such an important topic and ignored by so many, even professionals.”

(Don’t you just hate it when the professionals ignore the issue of pillow choice?”

Plus:

“Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!”

Again, Siimon sweetly takes this at face value too, telling the spammer: “Always happy to assist with your food intake.”

Now, has anybody got Siimon’s phone number? Dr Mumbo has some magic beans that he wants to sell to him.
