Simon James-Williams, Carat’s former MD, becomes head of audiences at Finder

Comparison service Finder has a new head of audiences in Simon James-Williams, the former national managing director of Dentsu Aegis Network’s Carat.

James-Williams left Dentsu in July last year as part of then-CEO Henry Tajer’s restructure. His departure was anticipated once Sue Squillace was named CEO a month earlier, but contradicted the holding group’s confirmation at the time that James-Williams would stay in his role.

James-Williams began in the role yesterday

He was in the Carat role for less than a year, but a longstanding member of the Dentsu team, starting at iProspect in London and holding roles at Columbus and Amplify before becoming chief client solutions officer for the holding group. Since his exit from the business six months ago, James-Williams set up his own consultancy practice.

“We’re thrilled to have Simon James-Williams onboard in a newly created head of audiences role. He will be responsible for developing new ways for our partners to communicate to our growing monthly audience of over 2.6 million engaged Australians,” said Finder’s co-founder and CEO, Frank Restuccia.

“We’re strongly focused on producing exceptional results and excellent service for our partners across the Finder platform, and we’re looking forward to having Simon take this commitment to new heights.”

James-Williams started in the new role yesterday, and said he will be responsible for new and existing audience relationships.

“I am excited to be joining the team at Finder, developing and supporting existing partnerships, alongside creating new revenue opportunities that leverage Finder’s audiences,” he said.

“The Finder team has a superior reputation in the market, and I hope to support the Client Services crew to showcase the premium nature of the Finder audience in 2020 and beyond.”

Yesterday, it was announced that James-Williams’ Dentsu colleague Nick Swifte, who also exited during last year’s restructuring, has also found a new role as senior account director at Rapid Media.
