Sling & Stone wins local PR pitch for global gifting platform

Sling & Stone has won the local PR account for a market-leading global greetings cards and gifts platform, following a competitive pitch process, Mumbrella can reveal.

Moonpig – a UK-founded platform that allows shoppers to personalise cards and gifts with photos and text – has appointed the agency to amplify awareness in the local market and support its innovation and development, including a new app and video messaging features.

It is the latest client to join Sling & Stone’s roster, including LUSH, RMIT Online, and 4Pines. Over the past 12 months, it has also been appointed by Rothy’sDomino’sBoodywaterdrop, and Nourish Ingredients, among others.

“Sling & Stone’s deep experience and passion in consumer retail and tech innovation complements our marketing programme for Australian shoppers,” Mary Liu, international director at Moonpig, told Mumbrella.

“The creativity showcased in the pitch, their deep local networks and genuine passion for the brand confirms that we couldn’t have found a better partner; they are a true extension of our in-house team.”

Kelly Owens, director of consumer at Sling & Stone, added: “Moonpig is a pioneering, market leading brand, forging connections to positively impact users, and doing it all with a sense of humour, making it the perfect pairing for Sling & Stone.”

The agency is continuing to prove its strength while it enters a new era, with founder and CEO, Vuki Vujasinovic, having stepped away from the business on January 1. Former global head of business, and 10-year veteran of the agency, James Hutchison, has succeeded him as CEO.
