Smart Queensland has unveiled a rebrand for online search directory Local Search which involved creating individual logos for different towns.

The premise of the business is that each regional town is unique and offers its own list of specialised services, so when it came to creating a new logo, one would simply not cut the mustard.
Phillippa Netolicky, SMART Queensland’s Creative Director, said for all its virtues, sometimes Google doesn’t quite grasp the distance between Dubbo and Dunedoo.
“Local Search has people on the ground in each of these communities and forges partnerships with trades and services to offer a specialised, local directory.
“Because why should you care about a plumber 1200km away when there’s one two blocks from you?” she said.
SMART Queensland has illustrated a series of 34 unique logos for Local Search that reflect each of the town’s unique characteristics from the Big Pineapple to the Golden Guitar.
“The logos offer a glimpse into the places and landmarks that make that town great,” she said.
“Each one showcases three local attractions, a body of water and one typical house from the area.”
The rebrand was recently completed and has been rolled out across a series of channels in regional towns.
