Smith & Western launch industry podcast series The Creative Relay

Sound design company Smith & Western has launched an industry podcast titled The Creative Relay.

The new podcast series will feature creatives interviewing other creatives.

Paul Dunne, Dan Higson and Nick West

The format will see the previous week’s interviewee become the interviewer in the next episode. Each interviewer will get to choose the creative they interview.

Paul Dunne – previously a creative director at Clemenger BBDO Sydney – will be the permanent host of the series and interview The Monkeys’ chief creative officer Ant Keogh in the first episode.

“We had to start somewhere – and what better place than inside the head of Ant Keogh. He’s an awe-inspiring creative powerhouse, and we were elated when he agreed to be our inaugural guest,” Dunne said in a statement.

In episode two, Keogh will interview the co-founder of The Glue Society, Jonathan Kneebone.

Episode three will see Kneebone interview DDB Sydney’s executive creative director, Tara Ford.

“It’s easy to spend so much time head down working. So, it was wonderful to take some time to reflect and project on our industry, careers and creativity with some amazing people,” Ford said.

Creators and producers of Smith & Western, Dan Higson and Nick West, said the series is one of a kind with high-calibre industry leaders.

Higson added: “We think there is a keen interest in the industry to get inside the minds of creative leaders and discover what makes them tick and this series and its relay concept delivers that with a double dose of each.”

West said: “The podcasts are very chilled, relaxed and conversational and cover the personal stories that go beyond the usual industry-focused discussion. That’s key to The Creative Relay because we’ve found it is often the stories-behind- the-story that uncover the greatest gems of insight, intrigue and inspiration.”
