Solstice Media launches digital offering for SA Life

Solstice Media, which acquired SA Life 11 months ago and publishes In Daily, has launched a digital destination for the South Australian print magazine.

The new website, salife.com.au, will feature similar content to the magazine, including lifestyle, food, culture, fashion and property, with a South Australian focus. Solstice has also launched a weekly email to be released on a Friday with a rundown of what’s on in South Australia across the weekend.

Solstice Media acquired SA Life in June 2018, bringing all staff across to continue working on the product. The acquisition was part of the retirement plan for then-owner David Smith.

Editorial director David Washington said SA Life digital would complement the hard news already on offer from other Solstice titles such as In Daily, offering readers a ‘softer landing into the weekend’. The SA Life digital platform features a tab which allows people to switch between SA Life and In Daily.

Penny Yap, editor of SA Life, said the new website and newsletter would give the title more ways to connect with readers.

“We know our readers are constantly on the hunt for local knowledge and, after more than 15 years of publishing the best of Adelaide and South Australia, SA Life has a lot to offer in this space,” said Yap.

According to Solstice, the SA Life newsletter already has a subscriber base of over 40,000 readers.
