Onikul was a media writer for the Australian Olympic Committee in Rio de Janeiro for the duration on the Rio Olympics.
Daniel Feiler, senior director of communications at eBay, said in a statement to Mumbrella: “We are delighted to have Sophie join the team and lead our Communications efforts in Australia. Australian online retail is undergoing rapid change and I am certain that Sophie will continue the tradition of excellent Communications counsel for eBay’s Australia business.”
Onikul is replacing Amber Morris who held the head of comms role at eBay for nearly four years.
