Spark Foundry wins media account for beauty retailer Clarins

Spark Foundry Australia has been appointed to the media account of plant-based beauty retailer Clarins, and will now manage its media strategy, planning and buying responsibilities in Australia.

Clarins appointed the Publicis agency after a competitive pitch, with Spark Foundry’s work to commence in January out of the agency’s Sydney office.

Clarins is a plant-based beauty company with a focus on anti-ageing products, and a strong remit for sustainable development and responsible beauty.

Its moral consciousness has made the brand increasingly popular and relevant in recent years, and Spark Foundry Australia CEO Imogen Hewitt praised Clarins’ ethos.

“Clarins is a prestige brand with an incredible history. The company’s ethos of using plant-based active ingredients, respecting nature and protecting biodiversity, while not compromising on efficacy, has never been as relevant as it is today,” she said.

“We’re delighted to be able to play a role in introducing the Clarins range of products and philosophy to a wider customer base. It’s an exciting win and we’re looking forward to starting 2021 working with a company at the forefront of product innovation in the beauty and skincare industry.”

The appointment aligns Clarins Australia with several of its European affiliates who are already associated with Spark Foundry overseas.

Clarins managing director Jerome Bellony said the company is looking forward to tapping into Spark Foundry’s insights.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Spark Foundry to drive our media strategy for 2021. With several other European affiliates already associated with Spark Foundry we are well placed to tap into their insights and learnings for a strong start to the year,” he said.

“Clarins will accelerate its communication on our long-standing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility practices with our new motto ‘making life more beautiful, passing on a more beautiful planet’.

“Thanks to this initiative, along with some exciting product innovations in the year to come, we are looking forward to celebrating success.”

Earlier this year, Spark Foundry added accounts including Silversea Cruises and My Muscle Chef to its portfolio, as well as winning Ancestry’s account over previous holder OMD.

More recently, Publicis Media Australia was appointed to Westpac’s media account, as the bank ended a near 10-year relationship with Group M.
