Speed hires Emma Smallwood to lead media activation team
Speed has appointed Emma Smallwood to lead the independent media agency’s media activation team.
Smallwood joins from Noisy Beast, where she was Sydney media manager, and has previously had stints at Mediacom, Bohemia, Starcom, Ikon, and OMD.
The appointment follows recent client wins for Speed which include last month’s Dulux Group’s B&D appointment, in addition to V Energy, Palmer’s, Paspaley and MCoBeauty.
In November, it was announced that Spark Foundry’s Duncan Parfitt would be joining Ian Perrin at the agency as managing partner.
“Speed will always be driven by the fusion of data/ analytics and communications strategy to solve client’s business problems,” Parfitt said of the hiring of Smallwood.
“But increasingly more clients are asking us to activate their campaigns, and it was important for us to find an experience leader to lead this for us. We were impressed by Emma’s experience working on some of Australia’s leading brands, and her calm and thoughtful approach.”
Smallwood added that Speed’s model and the team’s drive to do great work drew her in.
“Passion and curiosity are contagious, and when I first met the team at Speed, I was instantly drawn to their desire to create great work,” Smallwood said of her new role.
“They have built a unique and successful business model in a short period of time, and I thrilled to be joining their journey”
Speed’s client roster also includes the likes of Frucor, Japan Airlines, QIC, and Dry July
