Spotify appoints Eleven to handle both PR and social accounts

Music streaming service Spotify has appointed Eleven to handle its public relations and social accounts for Australia and New Zealand.

Spotify will continue to work with its current PR agency of record, Adhesive PR, until April which will mark the end of its five year relationship.

Sophie Paterson, head of communications at Spotify Australia and New Zealand, said in a statement: “Spotify’s mission is to unlock the potential of human creativity—by giving a million creative artists the opportunity to live off their art and billions of fans the opportunity to enjoy and be inspired by it.

“When we reviewed our roster, Eleven was the partner best placed to support us on this mission. We were impressed with their creative and strategic thinking, and we’re excited to have them help drive our business forward as we head in to our sixth year in market.”

Fiona Milliken, general manager at Eleven, added: “There’s no better brand that lives and breathes culture like Spotify. It’s at the forefront of acting on and reacting to trends. As an agency that celebrates culture, we felt a strong synergy from the get-go. It’s great to be working together, seeing what culture can do to propel the brand, and its fans through the power of music and its artists.”

In March, Eleven lost one of its biggest accounts McDonalds, which moved its account back to DDB’s PR arm, Mango Communications.

Eleven’s clients include Gatorade, Virgin, Skyy Vodka, ANZ, Phillips and M.J. Bale.
