Spotify Australia launches first Instagram campaign
Music streaming service Spotify Australia has launched it’s very first Instagram campaign, built around the idea of showing emotional moments connected to music.
The campaign, targeting 15 to 24-year-old music fans, has the hashtag #spotifysummer and shows five playful creative images built around light hearted emotional moments.
“The campaign focuses on emotions we can all connect with that are fun, disruptive and reflect the real Spotify listener experience,” said Serena Leith, marketing director ANZ. “While particular artists may be polarising, we know music experiences are unifying.”
This is the first Instagram campaign for the music service globally. “Paid social media campaigns will play an increasingly important role in Spotify Australia’s marketing strategy throughout the rest of 2015,” said Leith.
Launching a summer campaign with 4 days left of summer? Brilliant!

What is the point of mobile streaming apps in Australia, when we have such expensive and restricted mobile data plans? A few hours of Spotify a month, A couple of youtube clips and the assorted social media platforms blows right through my included data cap and in to my pocket.

@8. Instagrammer, you do know how these free things work right? The cost of the data centers, engineers, wages, innovating etc etc?

@Andrew
No I had no idea whatsoever. I thought it was all powered by windmills, solar panels and amazing, weird and wacky technology…?
They can still fck off my feed though.
Occasionally (pre digital revolution) people sometimes defaced billboards, however it was only the really motivated who would do this. Nowadays, you do not have to be motivated to deface a condescending corporate on social media. You can be seated on a bus, at your desk, on the kitchen benchtop, wherever you wish and deface away.
