Starcom appoints national MD, amidst a senior restructuring
Publicis media agency, Starcom has settled on its new national leadership structure, following the departure of Melbourne managing director, Stuart Jaffray in August.
In a number of moves, including promotions and new hires, current Sydney managing director, Nancy Lam has been appointed as national managing, in a role that will encompass both Melbourne and Sydney offices.
Upon her return from maternity leave, Louise Romeo has also been promoted to national head of operations and investment, from her previous role of chief client officer, while client services director, David Campbell has been promoted to head of Melbourne and group integration.

Campbell will lead the Melbourne office after Jaffray resigned serveral months ago, later taking up a role at B2B marketing agency Green Hat as its first managing director.
Starcom Australia CEO, Nick Keenan, who has been filling the Melbourne MD role in the interim, said: “The promotion of Nancy, David, and Louise will create a leadership structure that caters for the increasing demands of our product, service, and group marketing solutions for our clients. This sets our agency up for a successful 2022 so that we can continue to not only execute impactful media campaigns, but further our transition to being a digitally-led agency.
“Our goal is to deliver paid media, digital performance and experience design integrations that enhances our clients’ direct-to-consumer platforms and conversion results.”
Lan will now lead Starcom’s ‘People-Powered Growth’ culture in all markets, as well as client service outputs and team resources. Starcom said the expansion to a national role will enable the “market leads to be more product focused”.

Further appointments at the Melbourne office include Ivo Kavelj joining from Dentsu’s Amplifi as Melbourne head of HX solutions, Helen Karambilas from The Media Store as groupe business director on Bega and Louise Noble as business director on FCA.
Mumbrella reported in August that Bega Cheese consolidated its media accounts within its portfolio of brands with Starcom, with flagship brand Vegemite also moving media across to the Publicis Groupe agency from Thinkerbell.
Jacqui Purcell has rejoined Starcom after six years as client services director, leading Metcash, Aware Super and Visa in the Sydney office.
