Starcom Australia wins agency of the year at Festival of Media Awards 2012

Festival of MediaStarcom Mediavest Australia has been awarded agency of the year at the 2012 Festival of Media awards.

Starcom also picked up the best entertainment platform award for its ‘Supercar Showdown’ campaign for Shannons.

Eight Australian media agencies made it to the shortlist, with a strong showing of entries across categories.

Ikon Communications picked up the best experiential award for Share a Coke, and a highly commended for Fanta’s Playzone, for best use of mobile.UM Sydney was highly commended twice for the Beeflex campaign for Meat and Livestock Australia, for creative use of media and best communications strategy.

Starcom was also highly commended for Puppy love for Optimum, for best targeted campaign.

“It is an absolute honour to receive the award for Agency of the Year and it’s a testament to the skill, talent and dedication of our team at Starcom Australia,” said John Sintras, CEO of Starcom Mediavest Australia.

“It’s also worth considering that 880 entries were submitted from across the world for just 13 awards. For us to receive five shortlists and convert two of these to an award and a commendation is a fantastic achievement,” he said.
