Startups encouraged to enter QUT’s 2019 Collider Accelerator program

QUT Creative Enterprise Australia’s (CEA) 2019 Collider Accelerator program is now open for entries.

The program encourages startups in fashion, music, design, digital media, gaming, marketing and immersive technologies, to enter the program.

The announcement:

FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BOLD – TURN YOUR BIG IDEA INTO A BRIGHT FUTURE

Applications are now open for the 2019 Collider Accelerator program with QUT Creative Enterprise Australia (CEA) calling on bold and creative minds to nominate their startup in the areas of fashion, music, design, digital media, gaming, marketing and immersive technologies.

Collider Accelerator is an intensive three-month program, delivered by QUT Creative Enterprise Australia, tailored specifically to growing creative tech startups.

Inspiration can strike anyone, at any time but turning that big idea into a bright new future takes money, skill and experience.

QUTCEA CEO Mark Gustowski said up to 11 startups will be selected and mentored by industry-leading entrepreneurs and start-up specialists, receive $30,000 in pre-seed funding and spend a week immersed in Thailand’s world-renowned start-up ecosystem.

“We’re talking about access to some of the brightest minds from across the globe as well as one-on-one deep dives and hands-on workshops and masterclasses,” Mr Gustowski said.

“This program is where passion, creativity and technology collide to produce innovative and successful businesses.”

After completing 2018’s Collider Accelerator, Sunshine Coast music producer Taran Croxton launched Prysim, a platform for connecting musicians, venues, agents and event planners to quickly and easily organise, book, manage and pay for live gigs.

“Collider has done so much for Prysim but in its absolute essence the quality of mentorship and advice I received was absolutely incredible,” Taran said.

“And, for the first time in my journey as a founder, I was sitting in a room with likeminded people. The relationships I made out of that were incredible and helped me see that I’m not the only crazy person in this world who sees the future differently.”

Applications close 3 March 2019 with the 12-week program beginning 29 April 2019.
