Stayz starts daily deals campaign

Australian holiday rental site, Stayz.com.au has begun a trial of a daily deals product, Great Stayz Get-together.

New approach to the daily deals market with launch of the ‘Great Stayz Get-together’

Sydney, 1 February 2012: Today, Stayz.com.au announced it will be the first Australian holiday rental site to trial a daily deals product with the launch of their ‘Great Stayz Get-together’ campaign. Through the campaign site, Stayz will be encouraging holiday seekers to discover amazing holiday deals for selected properties. The ‘Great Stayz Get-together’ aims to showcase that there’s no better place to get together with family and friends than at a Stayz holiday rental.

The holiday deals will be based around weekend bookings, excluding peak periods, with properties discounted at 50% off their regular price.  Initially these daily deals will be run through the campaign only, however if successful daily deals may become an ongoing feature of the Stayz website.

“Stayz is constantly looking at new models to improve our offering and has been exploring the role the growing group buying sites are playing in the current online travel marketplace.  The traditional daily deals formula is not well suited to the holiday rental industry, with the need for high levels of deals per property and high supplier fees, however, we believe there is a way that we can implement a daily deals approach that works for both consumers and our property owners’ desire to secure more bookings,” says Anton Stanish, General Manager, Travel Marketplaces Division Fairfax Digital.

“We’ve always had a variety of deals on the Stayz site, however we will be interested in seeing how this new approach is received by both consumers and our property owners. If the feedback is positive we may look at rolling this out on an ongoing basis,” Stanish continues.

As part of Stayz’s investment in the campaign, consumers will also be given the chance to win 1 of 5 holiday rental get-togethers.  Entrants can select from five exclusive, pre-selected Stayz holiday homes with one holiday given away at each property. The competition element of the campaign allows Stayz to exhibit the great range of properties available on the site with something to suit everyone – from a private retreat in the Margaret River region to a Melbourne city-pad in the heart of the action.

Stanish says, “Holiday rentals provide a unique and memorable experience. We want to ensure that they are top of mind when consumers are considering their next holiday. Offering deals that grab attention can help us achieve this.”

Around five new property deals will go live each day and will feature on the site for at least one week unless sold out prior.
