Steve Price turns to Nine colleagues for contributors to new lunchtime show
The Macquarie Radio Network has revealed a roster of regular commentators for its new networked Steve Price lunchtime show.
The Steve Price Show kicks off on Monday on 2GB in Sydney, 4BC in Brisbane and other stations across regional Australia.
Daily contributors will include News Corp columnist Rita Panahi and MRN’s Mieke Buchan.
MRN is majority owned by Nine, with most of the new contributors coming from within the network talent stable.
Former Today host Kar Stefanovic will be a contributor to the show every Monday, while Nine’s Erin Molan will have a regular slot on Wednesdays and Today co-host Deb Knight will be on every Thursday. Nine’s rugby league commentator Phil Gould will contribute on Fridays.
Price said in a press release: “Afternoons will be a combination of opinion, talkback, breaking news and more – who doesn’t want to talk about their dream holiday or set of wheels, and trading blows with regular Rita Panahi is always great radio.”
Macquarie CEO Adam Lang said: “News doesn’t stop breaking when you break for lunch – and with Steve Price behind the microphone, neither do we.
2GB has so many ad breaks it’s now that the ads pause for a program. It’s the announcers job to pretend there is an actual program when it’s only 40% of air time

I’m very upset with 2GB for getting rid of Chris Smith . I used to enjoy his program and feel that he has been badly treated. Now that 2GB have control of 2UE, there isn’t the choice to change channels. Whose decision was it to rat out on Chris Smith ? Did he tread on somebody’s toes ? It’s very nasty !

This guy is one of the right wing
clowns keeping climate denial alive in this country. Don’t encourage him

So disappointed you got rid of Chris Smith for Steve Price who is in my opinion very shallow, boring and so rude. He is not quick in getting the point.
